ABOUT THE FIRM
Exceptional Representation
I began my legal career in 2011 in San Diego representing federal and state criminal defendants. I worked for the Law Offices of Knut S. Johnson from 2011 until the end of 2018, and also started my own law practice in 2016. I am a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the United States District Court in the Southern District of California. Dedicated to representing individuals facing serious allegations, I strive to focus on each of my clients and help them navigate the legal system and to provide assistance to those persons needing it the most: individuals whose very freedom hangs in the balance.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, I put my skills to work as a group home counselor in Bonita, California from 2001 to 2006. I witnessed first-hand the undeniable correlation between poverty, crime, and recidivism. Exposed to these glaring inequities facing California’s impoverished youth, I sought to make a greater impact and studied law at the University of San Diego beginning in 2006 and earned my law degree (J.D.) in May of 2009. I interned as a law student for the Office of the Primary Public Defender for two years under the supervision of juvenile and felony attorneys, and worked for the Central Misdemeanor Unit as a post-bar exam intern in the fall of 2009. I continued my legal education and earned my Masters of Laws in Trial Advocacy (LL.M) from California Western School of Law in May of 2011. I am a member of the California and Colorado Bars (although my license status is inactive in Colorado).
